At heart, I'm a gardener, herbalist, and lifelong student of the natural world. I'm happiest with dirt under my fingernails, a basket full of freshly harvested herbs, and a notebook filled with observations from the garden.

🌱 How Wild Woods Began

When my husband and I first moved to Texas, I started with a handful of raised beds on our three-acre homestead. I wanted fresh vegetables, medicinal herbs, and a closer connection to the plants my family used every day.

One garden bed quickly became eighteen. Then came fruit trees, berry patches, pollinator gardens, chickens, honey bees... and a dream that kept growing.

Today, we're building that dream on our 75-acre forest homestead in the heart of the Davy Crockett National Forest. Wild Woods is becoming an agroforestry farm where medicinal herbs, native plants, wildlife, and regenerative land stewardship all grow together.

🌸 Why I Do This

Plants have always fascinated me, not just for their traditional uses, but for the science behind them. I love exploring the intersection of herbal medicine, nutrition, ecology, and modern research while honoring traditions passed down for generations. My doctoral research explores how regenerative stewardship of forests influences the beneficial compounds produced by medicinal and aromatic plants, bridging traditional herbal knowledge with modern scientific research.

Everything I grow, make, and teach begins with one simple question: How can we work with nature instead of against it?
